On July 24th 2024, the President and CEO of the Global Alliance, Justin Green, delivered an important speech at the United Nations, supporting the global call for "Responsible Communication" as a new Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 18.

A productive and milestone meeting with United Nations members:

• Melissa Fleming, Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications of the United Nations
• Maher Nasser, Director of the Outreach Division at the United Nations
• Robb Skinner, Deputy Director of the Outreach Division of the United Nations
• Katerina Kitidi, Special Assistant to the USG of the United Nations

Accompanied by the Global Alliance delegation:

• Bonnie Caver, Board Member
• Thomas Brooks, CEO of PRSA
• Mateus Furlanetto, CAO of Global Alliance

This meeting also opened up many opportunities for collaboration between the Global Alliance and the United Nations. Besides advocating for the 18th SDG, the Global Alliance delegation presented a proposal for a strategic partnership with the United Nations and invited Melissa Fleming to be a keynote speaker at WPRF 2024 in Bali.

This meeting was not only a significant milestone for the Global Alliance but also marked a major step towards building a more sustainable world through responsible communication. Promoting the 18th SDG will help raise global awareness and action on the importance of transparent, accurate, and responsible communication. It also reaffirms the Global Alliance's strong commitment to collaborating with the United Nations and other international organizations to achieve sustainable development goals.
